Are you free to be you?

In my experience, freedom is what most seem to be seeking in this world. But what does it mean? What does it mean to be free?

Many say that it has to do with being able to do what they want, when they want, and where they want. And strive to get into that position.

But what happens when you get there? When you get to do what you want, when you want, and where you want?

Do you know?

Some say it didn’t fill the void. That there’s still this gnawing emptiness inside they can’t quite put their finger on.

I get it.
I’ve felt it, too.

Turned out there was a deeper layer beyond the want, and for me, it was about not being able to be me, fully myself, when doing what I wanted, when I wanted, and where I wanted.

So the meaning of freedom has since changed.

Now freedom means I’m free to be me in every situation without any constraints or limitations.

Sounds so simple, doesn’t it?
And it is, don’t get me wrong.
But it’s been far from easy.

Honestly, it’s been quite a journey to come to my redefinition of freedom. And required quite a lot of healing.

For if I in any situation relate

  • through my past
  • through my wounds or
  • through other misplaced perceptions of my mind

I’m not free. I’m not free to be me then.

I’m actually a prisoner. Of my past, of my wounds, of my mind. And your true health and wellbeing don’t live there. In any of those.

Not in the past. Not in the wounds. Nor in the mind misplaced by the past or the wounds.

Your true health and wellbeing lives in the present. In your true essence. In what you are beyond your past, your wounds, or your mind.

This is especially important for you in a leadership position. For when you’re relating to people through your past, through your wounds, or through your misplaced perceptions of mind, you make it about you.

But in leadership it never is about you.
In leadership, it’s never about one individual.

It’s about the collective. The people. The greater good of all.

Yes, the greater good of all comes to fruition through each and every individual, through the parts of the collective.

But what happens when the collective is led by an individual that makes it all about oneself? Through the inability to relate beyond the past, the wounds, or the misplaced perceptions of mind?

How can the greater good of all come to fruition then?

When the system is set to serve only one individual?

You see, this is the reason why leadership positions are so sacred. And not to be taken lightly.

For you as a leader, you have to do the work with yourself, to heal yourself, before you’re free to be you in any and every situation. In order for you to be able to lead your people from the true health and wellbeing of yourself, and thus to serve the higher good of all.

I know this is a big ask.

One where it’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to be perfect and flawless.

But that’s not what this is about.

In reality, the only thing required is presence.
To be aware, and to act consciously.

This I’ve found to be the foundation of my newly defined freedom, too. In all aspects of my life. Including leadership.

Which brings us back to the freedom to be yourself.

Truly be yourself.
Do you know what I mean?
Have you experienced it in your own life and leadership?

What it is to:

  • To be free?
  • To feel free?
  • To act free?
  • To love free?
  • To speak free?
  • To see free?
  • To understand free?

Free from the past.
Free from the wounds.
Free from the misplaced perceptions of the mind.

Free from the blame and worries.
Including the worry of other people’s opinions or being misunderstood.

Are you free to be you?
And thus serve the higher good of all?

I’m here to guide you in fully embracing, fully emerging and fully living in the true health and wellbeing of yourself. In the freedom to be you.

With my all,
Paula
