Turning darkness into light

In the Northern Hemisphere we’re living the darkest times of the year. This is perfect for retreating and reflecting. For turning inwards to gain insights on what has been, what is, and what’s going to be.

This is the time when we get to come face to face with the darkness naturally. Not only with out, but also within. Yet instead of it being something bad, negative or frightening, it’s an opportunity for us to learn to see in the darkness.

For in reality, there’s no such thing as darkness

Only absence of light.

Darkness isn’t something we can measure or study, for it doesn’t exist. Only light exists, and can be measured and studied.

This time of the year graces us the ability to learn to see in darkness – to see where in our lives do we still have absence of light.

Absence of love.

And we must remain in the dark until we learn to see in the dark.

When that happens, darkness disappears.

The mere realisation of darkness being only absence of light is the lightbulb moment where the woo meets the work and fear transforms into faith.

And darkness into light.

Or perhaps more correctly said, moment where we again allow the light to flow more freely also in areas where there were none before.

This time of the year is more sacred than many of us realise.

In the ways of modern world, we’ve forgotten the importance of retreat – of taking time to stay still and to observe. To connect with natural flow of life and the higher power that governs us all.

This is the time to let go.

To step out of the need to analyse it out, or think it out, or figure it out.

And to step into feeling. To sensing the world around you and your way forward.

Into the knowingness that rises from deep within you.

That can only happen when you silence your analytical mind. And let the light flow more freely.

Then it’s time for healed and empowered action.

With my all,
Paula
